Vactor Productivity - Thrusts Ahead With New Boom and CB Nozzle
Anyone who cleans catch basins every day knows it's a labor-intensive job. You need to attach one or several lengths of pipe to the boom, clean out the catch basin, take the pipes off, put them back on the truck and move on to the next site, where the whole process starts over.
The setup and teardown procedure might take 15-30 minutes per site. When the debris body is full, it's off to the dump site (which could be on the other side of town). All of this time adds up to real money.
Now, Vactor® offers two new solutions that cut the time and hassle of catchbasin cleaning: a new extendable boom and a new Catch Basin nozzle. The new, optional boom telescopes outward five feet along with an additional five feet of vertical movement, for a dramatic increase in boom coverage.
Because there's no need to tear down and set up pipes between every catch basin, the productivity of the new Vactor 5x5 boom combined with the CB nozzle makes the total unit much more productive. In fact, catch-basin cleaning with the new Vactor 5x5 boom and CB nozzle will be much faster than before.
The new boom's productivity improvements include:
- A significant increase in the number of catch basins that can be cleaned in a day
- Improved efficiency, whether a municipal crew or a contractor is doing the job
- Easier job for the operator due to less pipe and clamp handling, lifting and storing
Telescoping Catch Basin Nozzle
The new Catch Basin nozzle is designed to fit a standard 8-inch vacuum system and consists of an aluminum pipe nestled inside a flexible section of hose. This extendable nozzle is attached by a simple clamp. The nozzle provides seven feet of reach in the fully collapsed position and can extend an additional five feet for a total of 12 feet.
The CB nozzle is designed to fit any standard 8-inch
vacuum system. The nozzle also has applications on sweepers and other vacuum equipment used to clean out catch basins. This new option can really increase productivity for municipalities and contractors, whether they own Vactor or competitive machines.
The Vactor 2100 Series has a long reputation for being the most productive sewer cleaner on the market. The new boom and CB nozzle continue the Vactor tradition of handling any application with speed, thoroughness and agility. The Vactor 2100 is available in PD and fan models with debris capacities from 3 to 15 cubic yards and water capacities from 500 to 1,700 gallons.
