New, Self-Propelled Camera

STREATOR, Ill. (Feb. 16, 2006) — Vactor Manufacturing, Inc., the leading maker of sewer and catch basin cleaners, is giving municipalities and contractors attending the Pumper & Cleaner Environmental Expo in Nashville a first look at two new Camera systems with integrated LED lighting for sewer inspection.

According to Jared Dippel, Vactor product manager, customers will be able to choose between a durable, straight-view model or a pan and tilt camera with exceptional versatility and image quality. He noted that either of the new systems can be integrated right onto the sewer cleaner.

"Based on customer input, we selected self-propelled, tractor-mounted cameras for Vactor, rather than hose-mounted systems, because these provide greater reliability and ease of use. This allows for quick inspections that provide more data with less equipment and staff," Dippel said.

"One key advantage of both Vactor Camera Systems," he added, "is that they are portable and can be moved from truck to truck, so the municipality or contractor can potentially save the cost of deploying a dedicated camera truck."

Both new Vactor Cameras feature a portable power rewind cable drum for efficient removal following use. In addition, both systems offer the ability to record and document inspection.

Dippel explained that the two models provide distinct features and price points so customers can choose the camera that best suits their needs. Both cameras are fully serviceable by Vactor dealers. Interested customers should contact their Vactor dealer for a demonstration.
